Leonardo Jardim favorite for Real Madrid job
Ex-Monaco boss Leonardo
Jardim who was sacked by the club in October is currently the frontrunner for
the vacant managerial position at Real Madrid. He is considered the favorite in
a list including Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Robertino Martinez. It
would be recalled that Mr Jardim guided a very youthful Monaco side to the
Ligue 1 tittle and also to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The Italian giants are
considering an audacious swoop for Manchester United’s Eric Bailly. The 24-year
old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford as he has not made an
appearance for the club since the early parts of October. His contract also has
only one year remaining and discussions over an extension has not still kicked on.
The Real Madrid star market
value has gradually dropped in recent weeks and he may be available for a
reduced price this summer owing to his performances in recent games. With
Madrid now accepting the fact that he is not the man to replace Ronaldo at the
club, they may be willing to cut their losses and sell the Welshman before he
gets any older.
The Italian giants are
considering an audacious swoop for Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt, as the prospect of
Benatia’s exit draws closer. Benatia has been linked with a transfer to a host
of Clubs in the forthcoming winter window and it looks like Juve are resigned
to letting him leave. Therefore, they have identified De Ligt as one of the options
for his replacement.
The Spanish giants are
desperately seeking to bolster their defense in the winter window and have
therefore identified the Brazilian as the man for the job. He also has just six
months remaining on his current deal with Chelsea F.C and as such, will be
available at a cut-price.
The left-back has hit new
heights with the club since the appointment of Ernesto Valverde and those at
the helm of the club affairs are set to reward him for his remarkable job with
a new contract due to his existing one having just two more years remaining.
The Jamaica international previously signed a new
contract with the Bundesliga side this August, and has revealed the main reason
for his decision to stay in Germany. He said “Manchester United, City,
Liverpool and Chelsea were all interested, but the most important thing as a
pro is taking things one step at a time and not rushing to the top too quickly.
Because when you’re there, where do you go next?”
The defender has left the
door open to a potential switch away from Juve and according to Qsxnews
sources, Mourinho is a fan of the experienced centre-back who he wants at Old
Trafford to bring a sense of calm and security to his defense that has already
conceded 18 goals this season.
The premier league champions
have contacted the Ligue 1 club regarding a move for their in-form striker. The
Ivory coast international has found the net 8 times in 12 matches this season,
thereby helping the club to second position in the French league.
Southampton boss, Mark Hughes
faces the danger of being sacked on Saturday, if his club falls to Watford. They
are currently 16th in the premier league table and were thrashed 6- 1 this Sunday
which did little to take their manager off the spotlight.
