Suarez sensational hat-trick downs Real Madrid
By Dickson Preye
Barcelona striker grabbed the headlines with a sensational hat-trick against Real-Madrid in what must surely turn out to be Julen Lopetegui's last day at the Real Madrid.
The game was struck to life in the 11th minute as Phillipe Countinho put Barca ahead after some good work from Jordi Alba. Barcelona continued with their high tempo and were rewarded in the 30th minute as France International Raphael Varane tripped Luiz Suarez in the penalty box and after much consultation with the V.A.R, Refree Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez pointed to the spot with Luiz Suarez firing a glorious srike beyond Thibaut Curtois to give Barcelona a two goal lead.
Lucaz Vazquez was introduced at half-time and his presence was immediately felt as Marcelo had the ball at the back of the net in the 50th minute.
Luka Modric was unfortunate to see his well struck shot hit the foot of the post and that was the last bit of attacking play from Madrid as it was all Barcelona from then on.
First, Sergi Roberto's inviting cross was headed home by Luiz Suarez who later added a breathtaking chip over Curtois to complete his hat-trick.
However, there was still time for Barca substitute Aturo Vidal to join in on the fun as he added a fifth with his late header to send Camp Nou into celebrations.
