Malik Sancho born on the 25th of
march 2000 is an English professional footballer playing as a winger for
Bundesliga club(Borussia Dortmund) and the England Nationa Team. Born in Campbell,
Sancho progressed through the youth ranks of Manchester City F.C and was widely
acknowledged by his teammates and coaches as a player of ernomous potential and
talent which were very easy to notice. Bursting down the field with his
monstrous pace, bamboozling opponents with his insane dribbling and creating chances
for teammates with his exceptional playmaking abilities, Sancho had all the
tools required to become an exceptional winger. However last summer he decided
to complete a transfer from Machester City to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund(for
7 million Euros) in search of regular first team opportunities. He knew that
with exceptional wingers like Raheem Sterling,Leroy Sane,Riyad mahrez,Bernado
silva and others present in the squad his chances of pinning down a regular
starting spot were slim and in order not to stall his career development he
needed a new challenge.
Fastforward to a Sancho
is now nicknamed the “king of Assists”.He sits on top of the assist table table
in Europe’s big five leagues. He is now a fan favourite at his new club due to
his pace, dribbling, playmaking abilities and also due to the fact that whenever
he has the ball, he gets the fans to the edge of their seat.Last week’s call up
to the England senior squad was a dream come true for him. He has been hailed
for leaving the familiar surroundings of Manchester, family and friends to
further develop his career overseas and is now being used as an example to
young English players across the country thatstruggling to break into the star
studded first team of their various clubs. His display against Croatia proved
doubters wrong especially those pointing to his young age and inexperience and
he almost marked it with an assist. There is an air of optimism around Jadon
Sancho and other English youngsters as they try to fight their way into
recognition and with Sancho leading the charge,he is seen as “the shining light”of the next generation of english footballers.
